Lindze, Landon, and Koah’s Maternity session!
By · CommentsHow did I get so lucky as to have such good-lookin’ people up on my blog…not once, but twice! I don’t know….but I’ll take it!
We shot Lindze and Landon’s wedding last year in January, and now Baby Koah is due, like, *anydaynow*. Isn’t that a sweet name? It’s Hawaiian (”Koa”), with an H so it wouldn’t be like Kampgrounds Across America. lol…and I believe it is also the name of a pro surfer. Lindze and Landon went surfing in California a few years ago and loved it. So there you go; it became their baby boy’s name!
I went out to their house to get these shots. They had great light and lots to work with. As I told them, it’s great for them because they don’t have to go anywhere, they end up feeling more comfortable, and it’s just more personal and memorable. (And it’s great for me because I get to play with new backgrounds!) Well, Lindze is, as you can plaunly see, absolutely gorgeous in every picture I’ve ever taken of her. She makes my camera look good, lol!
And Landon said he wasn’t sure what to do at first, but I think he looks pretty relaxed. I try to remind our clients during shoots to “just get comfortable” (I say that a lot), and the pictures will end up looking great if they just do their thing. So I think he pulled it off pretty well, don’t you?

Valentine Designs
By · CommentsI had a few requests for Valentine’s Day cards, so here’s one I made this morning. I gotta run, but I’ll try to post more soon!
(The gray is where the picture goes and the red box is for your message. Colors can be adjusted! Looks cute in pinks, too.)

Here is a cute heart one:

And a fun, bright one:

Pure Captures is still booking for Valentine’s Day! Book your session by February 6th in order to receive pictures or cards for your sweetie. Order a set of one of these designs with your child’s photo for the class Valentine’s Day party! Twenty-four 4×6 photographic cards are $24 – including envelopes! (Additional cards are available.) These will totally knock the socks off those boring cartoon character cards that everyone else will be handing out.
Another Christmas Card Design!
By · CommentsI kept this one simple but classy! Here it is featuring one of the Faucett family’s Christmas photos. 3 boys and a girl kept me on my toes the whole time! We climbed trees, haybales, fences, and jumped in leaves – so much fun! It reminded me of playing in the leaves when I was little. I look forward to getting to do that again with my own baby in a few years!
Tiffany’s Revive the Dress session
By · CommentsA lot of people hear the words “Trash the Dress” and they freak out when thinking about their wedding dress being subjected to extreme things like water, weather, or dirt. Well, Tiffany was not afraid to model for us and have fun again in her wedding dress! She got married a few years ago and found out it was going to cost $400 to preserve the dress….and thinking any future daughter may not want to wear or fit into her mom’s dress, so why not have fun with it instead? Besides, how often do you get to wear that thing anyway?! So we Revived the Dress and did a photo shoot in some places she wouldn’t have normally gone on or before her wedding day for a shoot!
You can’t tell from the pictures (unless you zoom in really close on the high-res files!) but she has goosebumps because it was COLD that evening! She was amazing and didn’t complain….she did better than me, lol. We raced to the car a few times to warm up in between locations, and finished with hot cocoa and standing in front of a space heater at our house. We had beautiful light, although it was fading super fast at the end. But the shots turned out great, and I am happy we got a bride interested in having some fun again with her wedding dress. And it wasn’t even “trashed” – just a little grass and maybe some dirt. We did step over cowpies to get some of these shots, though!
(By the way, Tiffany is a Chiropractor at Springfield Sport and Spine. She fixed me up the day before Thanksgiving when I was having some weird back spasms, and she helped Matt with a few other things a few months ago, which are also doing much better with some of the therapies in her office and the exercises she showed him how to do at home.)
It’s a very Tilghman Christmas!
By · CommentsWe have photographed this great family three times now, and they just keep getting cuter and cuter! First we did Ross and Nicholette’s maternity photos, then Eleora’s newborn photos, and now she is 14 months old! Wow, time flies. We didn’t know then that we’d have our own little one about the same time next year! Eleora’s picture here in the pine tree shows off her charming smileyness that she has every time I see her. We’ll be doing a Christmas card for them so we’ll have that design to post later this month. To see more from the Tilghmans’ shoot, you can click on “See ‘Your Prints” on our homepage.
And now, for a series of shots called “Shadow People”:
The Neill Family
By · CommentsHolly, Eric, and Leif came down to our house for this fun little photo shoot as part of our Fall portrait & Christmas card special. We met Holly when I was 9 months pregnant, when Matt did a one-mile swim at Moonshine Beach in Branson. Holly was coordinating the event & we let her know about the photos I had taken while Matt swam. Well, one thing led to another, and the next thing you know, we are taking their family pictures! Leif is a little over 1 year old and only the second little boy we have ever shot! (Doesn’t that phrase sound terrible??) For some reason we have had a ton of little girls, but Patrick and Leif have been our only boys. So it was a nice change! Here are a few from their session, full of beautiful fall color!

Ok, these are kind of “outtakes” when we attempted to get Leif to lay in the leaves next to Mom and Dad. (Nice face, Eric.) In the second one, you can see Grandma’s hand and part of Mr. Foxy (I can’t remember his name!) attempting to rescue the shot, but to no avail. But I love it anyway!
And finally, here’s a new Christmas card design. I was inspired by some cool Osage oranges Holly brought along, and some fall foliage in our yard. I love designing cards!
