Branch came over to play last week and we got some quick shots of the boys with the chicks before the chicks got too big! (I am sad to say that one of them fell to the death today by Patrick’s puppy. It was the one that had previously escaped the box and liked to fly around a lot.)

Patrick’s Chickie pics….Round One!

The benefit of having a baby around all the time is that whenever one photo shoot doesn’t work out due to their mood, you can always try again tomorrow! So….this is Round One. Round two with his friend Branch turned out much better & will be forthcoming! Thanks to my sister Catherine, who was visiting last week, for taking some of these family shots, herding chickens, and restraining the escapee dog.

We start our story with some mild baby amusement….

Then we move on to some grass-eating…

He finally gets one close enough to catch…

Me: “omg! Get it away from him!”

Good call, chickie…

Chickens = SAVED! Sorry, Cat, I just had to put this one up!

Pretty sure the dog is happier than Patrick by this point.

So we did some tossing….

That worked, and then later, we took pictures with Daddy and Mommy!

Sophia’s One-Year Session

We were so glad to see Erin, Adam, and Sophia once again. We did her 4 1/2 month photos and she has changed so much. I guess that’s what babies do, right? We were talking about how cliche it is that everyone says, “They grow so fast!” but it’s SO true. Now Sophia is standing, whereas last time she was just learning how to stay propped up on a pillow without falling over. She’s also saying a few words, including “dog” – haha! We definitely had a great time once again. We laughed so hard when we brought out the baby chicks! I had to bump up my shutter speed because I was afraid my uncontrollable laughter would cause the camera to shake too much. One of the baby chicks made the mistake of getting caught by Sophia. It was definitely cheeping quite loudly. It got a little squeezed…lol, poor chickies!

Patrick’s mini 6-month shoot

This was a bit impromptu. He was in such a great mood and I didn’t want to make him mad by changing his clothes. Therefore: no pants. I’m glad we finally caught him while he was laughing and smiling! It is sooo hard to take good pictures of your own kids. If you’re by yourself and want to take some, there might not be anybody to interact with them and distract them from the camera. This results in frustrations on both parties. But Matt & I were both home and took turns behind the camera, and I am happy with the results. Now if only all three of us were in some. I should get me a remote for my camera!

Baby Koah is here!

Two things I love: Babies and natural light. Put them together and what do you get? A great photography session! (Ok, some of these I had to use a very light bounce, but the majority of it was all natural light from their big living room window.)

Thanks once again for such a chill photo session, Lindze and Landon! (By the way, you can see their maternity session from a few weeks ago here.) Commence squishy lips and naked baby bums….NOW!

Koah in his Pizza House attire…..long story. I’d link to them but can’t find a website or FB page for them, even though they said they had one. I’ll have to call and find out, because they gave us this shirt when we ate there the day Koah was born. They are on Commercial Street & are pretty good for your basic pizza (good prices, friendly staff). We dropped it off at the hospital for them without our names, just a note on an order form. They were pretty confused until Matt dropped a line on Landon’s Facebook page that clued them in, hehe….I like Landon’s idea about putting him in the box!

We had the pleasure of taking a few maternity pictures of these three back in July when we went to hang out one summer evening at the creek. I can’t believe how fast time flies! Patrick & Branch will have many fun times in the future, I’m sure. I’ll probably post a few of them on Patrick’s blog later this week.

Have I said how much I loooove doing in-home sessions? We have been to Matthew & Lacy’s house quite a few times, so I knew they had lots of fun nooks to work with. And Branch just cracks me up with his silly baby-ness! I love how these turned out – the lighting was great!

This was from Rebecca’s birthday in January. I was going through some personal pics and they looked like they would make a fun blog post! We went to Tea Bar and Bites, one of her favorite places to eat in Springfield. The food is amazing, fresh, and made from scratch. (Unfortunately, we have no food pics this time because we had just brought the camera in from the cold car and had to wait for it to de-fog, and we didn’t want to let our delicious food get cold! That just means we have to go back, though, right?)

Lindze, Landon, and Koah’s Maternity session!

How did I get so lucky as to have such good-lookin’ people up on my blog…not once, but twice! I don’t know….but I’ll take it! We shot Lindze and Landon’s wedding last year in January, and now Baby Koah is due, like, *anydaynow*. Isn’t that a sweet name? It’s Hawaiian (“Koa”), with an H so it wouldn’t be like Kampgrounds Across America. lol…and I believe it is also the name of a pro surfer. Lindze and Landon went surfing in California a few years ago and loved it. So there you go; it became their baby boy’s name!

I went out to their house to get these shots. They had great light and lots to work with. As I told them, it’s great for them because they don’t have to go anywhere, they end up feeling more comfortable, and it’s just more personal and memorable. (And it’s great for me because I get to play with new backgrounds!) Well, Lindze is, as you can plaunly see, absolutely gorgeous in every picture I’ve ever taken of her. She makes my camera look good, lol! And Landon said he wasn’t sure what to do at first, but I think he looks pretty relaxed. I try to remind our clients during shoots to “just get comfortable” (I say that a lot), and the pictures will end up looking great if they just do their thing. So I think he pulled it off pretty well, don’t you?

It’s a very Tilghman Christmas!

We have photographed this great family three times now, and they just keep getting cuter and cuter! First we did Ross and Nicholette’s maternity photos, then Eleora’s newborn photos, and now she is 14 months old! Wow, time flies. We didn’t know then that we’d have our own little one about the same time next year! Eleora’s picture here in the pine tree shows off her charming smileyness that she has every time I see her. The Neill Family

Holly, Eric, and Leif came down to our house for this fun little photo shoot as part of our Fall portrait & Christmas card special. We met Holly when I was 9 months pregnant, when Matt did a one-mile swim at Moonshine Beach in Branson. Holly was coordinating the event & we let her know about the photos I had taken while Matt swam. Well, one thing led to another, and the next thing you know, we are taking their family pictures! Leif is a little over 1 year old and only the second little boy we have ever shot! (Doesn’t that phrase sound terrible??) For some reason we have had a ton of little girls, but Patrick and Leif have been our only boys. So it was a nice change! Here are a few from their session, full of beautiful fall color!

Ok, these are kind of “outtakes” when we attempted to get Leif to lay in the leaves next to Mom and Dad. (Nice face, Eric.) In the second one, you can see Grandma’s hand and part of Mr. Foxy (I can’t remember his name!) attempting to rescue the shot, but to no avail. But I love it anyway!

And finally, here’s a new Christmas card design. I was inspired by some cool Osage oranges Holly brought along, and some fall foliage in our yard. I love designing cards!
