Branch’s 6ish-month baby shoot
Posted by: | CommentsWe had the pleasure of taking a few maternity pictures of these three back in July when we went to hang out one summer evening at the creek. I can’t believe how fast time flies! Patrick & Branch will have many fun times in the future, I’m sure. I’ll probably post a few of them on Patrick’s blog later this week.
Have I said how much I loooove doing in-home sessions? We have been to Matthew & Lacy’s house quite a few times, so I knew they had lots of fun nooks to work with. And Branch just cracks me up with his silly baby-ness! I love how these turned out – the lighting was great!

Birthday lunch at Tea Bar and Bites
Posted by: | CommentsThis was from Rebecca’s birthday in January. I was going through some personal pics and they looked like they would make a fun blog post! We went to Tea Bar and Bites, one of her favorite places to eat in Springfield. The food is amazing, fresh, and made from scratch. (Unfortunately, we have no food pics this time because we had just brought the camera in from the cold car and had to wait for it to de-fog, and we didn’t want to let our delicious food get cold! That just means we have to go back, though, right?)
Another Christmas Card Design!
Posted by: | CommentsI kept this one simple but classy! Here it is featuring one of the Faucett family’s Christmas photos. 3 boys and a girl kept me on my toes the whole time! We climbed trees, haybales, fences, and jumped in leaves – so much fun! It reminded me of playing in the leaves when I was little. I look forward to getting to do that again with my own baby in a few years!
It’s a very Tilghman Christmas!
Posted by: | CommentsWe have photographed this great family three times now, and they just keep getting cuter and cuter! First we did Ross and Nicholette’s maternity photos, then Eleora’s newborn photos, and now she is 14 months old! Wow, time flies. We didn’t know then that we’d have our own little one about the same time next year! Eleora’s picture here in the pine tree shows off her charming smileyness that she has every time I see her. We’ll be doing a Christmas card for them so we’ll have that design to post later this month. To see more from the Tilghmans’ shoot, you can click on “See ‘Your Prints” on our homepage.
And now, for a series of shots called “Shadow People”:
The Neill Family
Posted by: | CommentsHolly, Eric, and Leif came down to our house for this fun little photo shoot as part of our Fall portrait & Christmas card special. We met Holly when I was 9 months pregnant, when Matt did a one-mile swim at Moonshine Beach in Branson. Holly was coordinating the event & we let her know about the photos I had taken while Matt swam. Well, one thing led to another, and the next thing you know, we are taking their family pictures! Leif is a little over 1 year old and only the second little boy we have ever shot! (Doesn’t that phrase sound terrible??) For some reason we have had a ton of little girls, but Patrick and Leif have been our only boys. So it was a nice change! Here are a few from their session, full of beautiful fall color!

Ok, these are kind of “outtakes” when we attempted to get Leif to lay in the leaves next to Mom and Dad. (Nice face, Eric.) In the second one, you can see Grandma’s hand and part of Mr. Foxy (I can’t remember his name!) attempting to rescue the shot, but to no avail. But I love it anyway!
And finally, here’s a new Christmas card design. I was inspired by some cool Osage oranges Holly brought along, and some fall foliage in our yard. I love designing cards!
Patrick’s first official photo shoot!
Posted by: | CommentsWe’ve been waiting for a warm day to do this, and Monday was that perfect day. I have to say, photographing your own baby is a lot harder than photographing someone else’s! At least with another person’s baby, they can nurse or hold them for a bit without having to always be putting down the camera. But we got some good shots, and since we’ll always have this little baby model around, I didn’t worry too much about the shots that didn’t work out so well this time.
By the way, family & whomever else wants to can buy nice prints of these and others of Patrick that we’ll be adding at http://www.purecaptures.com/seemyprints
(He got confused about where the milk came from.)

My fav!
This is the view I see him from most often.

These last two I love the light on. Great job, Matt!
