Baby Mary’s Home Birth

Posted by: Pure Captures | Comments (3)

Celeste & her family were some of my first official clients, and I was so honored and excited to be invited to document their third child’s birth.  Every birth is different, and this was no exception.  There was so much family there, you could feel the love and support in the room as Celeste labored.  From, of course, the safe birth, to Mary being born at sunset as Celeste had pictured, to there being great light for photos….everything went smoothly, and everything happened just as they wanted it.  Celeste, I am so glad you had such a wonderful birth experience!  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family’s special day!

Noah’s home birth

Posted by: Pure Captures | Comments (0)

Noah was born at home with a midwife (two, actually), and I had the honor of taking his birth pictures.  I met his mommy at the Friends of Missouri Midwives group that meets monthly in Springfield.  I really wanted to photograph a home birth that we could use to show others what one is like.  I just want people to know they have options out there for where to give birth.  We had our baby at home as well, and I am so glad we did.  If anyone reading this has questions about home birth, the Friends of Missouri Midwives group, midwives, or home birth photography, please contact me and I’ll do what I can to help you.  Email me rebecca@purecaptures.com or call 417.830.6642 for pricing and info on home birth photography around Springfield, Branson, and Southwest Missouri.

I selected the images for this video to tell the story in the best way possible.  There is nothing in it that would make you uncomfortable if you have never seen birth pictures before.  Birth is really the coolest thing I have ever photographed and I can’t wait to do more!
