We’ve got cute little chicks and you’ve got cute little people, so let’s combine the two for some majorly adorable photos!  Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9, and we have the perfect gift for moms and grand-moms this year.  With every outdoor photo session at our place on the farm, we’re offering a free set of two accordion wallet Brag Books.  If you haven’t seen them yet, these little books have 10 images printed on durable synthetic paper that close together within a magnetic cover.  They are absolutely PERFECT for stashing in Mom or Grandma’s purse (or Dad’s pocket!) and pulling out to show how much cuter your kids are than your friends’ kids.  We’ve got special thank-yous for referrals, so check out the info below.  Also be sure to see a few baby chick pictures on our blog.  These chicks will only keep their fuzz for a little while, so this special will only last two weeks!  The last day for your session is Saturday, April 24th. Slots are limited, so call or message us now to schedule your appointment!

Photo Session: $90

Receive a free accordion wallet set with a Standard cover (black, brown, pewter, or tan leatherette) ($40 value)

PLUS, for every referral you send our way, you can receive a free upgrade to a Premium fabric cover or  free prints!  We have many colors available for covers – check out the photos.

Extra sets of accordion wallets are available as well.

Baby Mary’s Home Birth

Posted by: Pure Captures | Comments (3)

Celeste & her family were some of my first official clients, and I was so honored and excited to be invited to document their third child’s birth.  Every birth is different, and this was no exception.  There was so much family there, you could feel the love and support in the room as Celeste labored.  From, of course, the safe birth, to Mary being born at sunset as Celeste had pictured, to there being great light for photos….everything went smoothly, and everything happened just as they wanted it.  Celeste, I am so glad you had such a wonderful birth experience!  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family’s special day!

Spring is here!

(unofficially, anyway)

This is our backyard.  Morning dew and haze make for some nice pictures!  There are daffodils popping out ALL over the place.  I can’t wait to see the redbuds start blooming, because there are soooo many of them down the lane!  I picked some flowers this morning and combined them in a vase with some maple branches that are starting to bud as well.  So far, these are the only two I’ve really seen.  (Oh, and some tulip and crocus leaves coming up in the front bed.)

Baby Koah is here!

Posted by: Pure Captures | Comments (0)

Two things I love: Babies and natural light.  Put them together and what do you get?  A great photography session!  (Ok, some of these I had to use a very light bounce, but the majority of it was all natural light from their big living room window.)

Thanks once again for such a chill photo session, Lindze and Landon!  (By the way, you can see their maternity session from a few weeks ago here.) Commence squishy lips and naked baby bums….NOW!

love those toes poking out!

Koah in his Pizza House attire…..long story.  I’d link to them but can’t find a website or FB page for them, even though they said they had one.  I’ll have to call and find out, because they gave us this shirt when we ate there the day Koah was born.  They are on Commercial Street & are pretty good for your basic pizza (good prices, friendly staff).  We dropped it off at the hospital for them without our names, just a note on an order form.  They were pretty confused until Matt dropped a line on Landon’s Facebook page that clued them in, hehe….I like Landon’s idea about putting him in the box!

This is Chelsea and Josh, and Joshua Henry, who is coming any day now!  They live on a beautiful farm near Monett, and wanted pictures of them and their dog on the farm.  I thought, “Sweet!  Cute couple, quaint farm, baby momma with gorgeous eyes, AND a doggie!  I can dig this!”

Sooo pretty, with justt a touch of fog left in the distant trees:

Wyatt was a very polite dog, and he knew how to fetch quit nicely!

Some sweet dairy barn action:

More puppy (sorry, I like dogs…)

Valentine Designs

Posted by: Pure Captures | Comments (0)

I had a few requests for Valentine’s Day cards, so here’s one I made this morning.  I gotta run, but I’ll try to post more soon!

(The gray is where the picture goes and the red box is for your message.  Colors can be adjusted!  Looks cute in pinks, too.)

Here is a cute heart one:

Pure Captures is still booking for Valentine’s Day!  Book your session by February 6th in order to receive pictures or cards for your sweetie.  Order a set of one of these designs with your child’s photo for the class Valentine’s Day party!  Twenty-four 4×6 photographic cards are $24  – including envelopes!  (Additional cards are available.)  These will totally knock the socks off those boring cartoon character cards that everyone else will be handing out.

A lot of people hear the words “Trash the Dress” and they freak out when thinking about their wedding dress being subjected to extreme things like water, weather, or dirt.  Well, Tiffany was not afraid to model for us and have fun again in her wedding dress!  She got married a few years ago and found out it was going to cost $400 to preserve the dress….and thinking any future daughter may not want to wear or fit into her mom’s dress, so why not have fun with it instead?  Besides, how often do you get to wear that thing anyway?!  So we Revived the Dress and did a photo shoot in some places she wouldn’t have normally gone on or before her wedding day for a shoot!

You can’t tell from the pictures (unless you zoom in really close on the high-res files!) but she has goosebumps because it was COLD that evening!  She was amazing and didn’t complain….she did better than me, lol.  We raced to the car a few times to warm up in between locations, and finished with hot cocoa and standing in front of a space heater at our house.  We had beautiful light, although it was fading super fast at the end.  But the shots turned out great, and I am happy we got a bride interested in having some fun again with her wedding dress.  And it wasn’t even “trashed” – just a little grass and maybe some dirt.  We did step over cowpies to get some of these shots, though!  :-)

(By the way, Tiffany is a Chiropractor at Springfield Sport and Spine.   She fixed me up the day before Thanksgiving when I was having some weird back spasms, and she helped Matt with a few other things a few months ago, which are also doing much better with some of the therapies in her office and the exercises she showed him how to do at home.)
